Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 9:19PM I was going to post my Chinese lesson of the week, but this was too cool to pass up. I am a fan of Freakonomics by the Stevens (Dubner and Levitt). I found it fascinating to see sociology through the eyes of economists. I'm proud to say that Portland has doubled down on this concept.
The program is called System Dynamics for Smarter Cities and it allows city planners to take seemingly uncorrelated urban phenomena and help build models that guide their plans.
